We've done the double over Sedgefield.

The game was end to end, a bit scrappy at times, we had an obvious penalty call ignored, tackles from behind, but the end result was another win for the CV team.

Sedgefield scored first on 9 minutes, but the lads didn't let it get to them and worked hard to both keep any more goals out but also score an equaliser.

That equaliser came at 22 minutes thanks to a goal from Callum. CV kept the pressure on and a second goal came on 32 minutes, again from Callum.

It looked like we were going to have a repeat of the first encounter where we ran out winners 4-2 (2-1 in each half) but Sedgefield had other ideas and on 32 minutes they scored an equaliser.

2-2 was ok, we thought, we can still work a winner, but then disaster struck and on 33 minutes, Sedgefield scored another, so the first half ran out 3-2 to Sedgefield.

A half time team talk was needed to fire up the lads and they responded. 9 minutes into the second half and George bagged a well needed goal putting us on level terms.

Now the pressure was on, Sedgefled kept throwing their forwards behind our back four (and conceding offsides), then out of the blue Jake got on the end of a high ball and headed a match winner past the Sedgefield goal keeper.

Sedgefield tried to get an equaliser, they changed formation to three strikers, but that left them vulnerable at the back, so we kept attacking, looking for another goal.

The continued pressure meant that they were unable to settle and equalise.

Final score Sedgefield 3 : Catterick Village 4.

Man of the Match - Declan.
