So, SMSC runs as usual on the 2 Saturdays over the halft-term holiday period - 13th & 20th Feb - 10:30-12:00 at Colburn.

See you there - Steve.

SMSC on as usual this week indoors at the Colburn Sports Centre.

We are due to cancel next week's SMSC (Sat 16th) as we'll be off to the Darlington vs Aldershot game (though should that game be postponed due to the bad whether we may run as SMSC after all!).

So - stay tuned and watch out for updates!

U6's away at Northallerton - Saturday 28th November 2009

1 Comment - Add comment Written on 29-Nov-2009 by sadams

An early start saw the whole of the SMSC visiting Northallerton for matches this week.

Whilst our U8 squad played on one pitch our younger players took part in an exciting and competitive match alongside - their first outing on a real 7-a-side pitch.

As Northalllerton had more players avaialble the CVJFC side was augmented by 2 players form the Northalllerton squad to make the numbers even. Northallerton made their experience show and attacked from the start. Jack in goal had several shots to deal with despite the valiant efforts of Harvey and Dominic in defence.Daniel and Ryan battled and ran and linked up well with the on-loan Northallerton players (Charlie & Jacob?) who were a bit older and stronger and helped our cause.

In the second half Ryan took over in goal and showed some impressive kicking and shot stopping. Harvey, abley aided by Dominic, made some great challenges in defence as Northallerton again were on top. A trio of Northallerton players joined the CVJFC ranks - especially noticeable was the competitive and skilful Ellie along with Luke and Ben and our own Daniel's tireless running.

After a half hour of very competitive and exciting football the crowd of parents showed their appreciation as Northallerton ran out clear winners.

The CVJFC youngsters can be very proud of their performance in their first real 7-a-side game.

Well done to all and thanks for the support of the parents.

Steve.
