FREE FA SKILLS COACHING - August 20th & 21st

The FA Skills team are providing FREE skills sessions at Catterick Garrison (Robertson Road, DL9 4JQ) on Thursday 20th & Friday 21st.

From the FA Website:

Your child can receive free football skills coaching during the school holidays (excluding Christmas) with professional FA Skills Coaches. The sessions are open to boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 11 years old.

Full details and the online booking for the Garrison dates will go live on 27th July via here:

*Note that a child may only book onto 1 session (am or pm) each day.

Several of our SMSC U8's have attended these sessions and I highly recommend them.  The coaches are first class and the latest age-appropriate drills and approach ensure kids of all abilities have fun and learn.

Steve Adams.

Newsletter September 08

Welcome to our first newsletter for the Catterick Village Rangers.

Well done team on your first game together as the U10`s against Barton U10`s. The main thing is that you all enjoyed the match. Thank you to TJ, our team captain this week. We wish you a speedy recovery on your foot injury. A big thank you also to all parents who helped with supporting the team i.e. coaching, setting up, washing kits, support etc. Your help is invaluable and very much needed and appreciated. Could all children please remember to bring a warm jacket, a drink/water bottle, shin pads and £1.50 football fees each week. Thank you also to Bob Thornton for sorting out the football pitch and opening up for us.

Tomorrow the match is at Catterick Garrison at AWS 10.30am kick off (Arrival between 9.45am—10.00am for kit change and warm up). Any problems with transport please ring Ally 01748 810266.

The football training ran in the summer holidays with all contributions going towards a fun day for the kids - 10 pin bowling. This is to be held October 25th 2pm at the White Rose Bowling Club and is a thank you to the children for all of their hard work. This is open to all team members and a small contribution will be required if you did not attend the training over the summer holidays. We will need parental help to make this run as smoothly as possible so all willing helpers required. Football training will be held in the holidays again with all contributions going back to the children.

Ally has successfully obtained funding for a new strip which you will all be wearing tomorrow. We would like to say a huge thank you to Catterick Service Station (Mark Chisholm) for the generous donation made to make this possible. Christopher Jefferie from C & M Plumbing Services from Catterick Village made another fantastic donation that provided the team with training bibs and Marker Cones. Kiddiewinx Childcare generous donation also provided the team with the Captains Arm Band, Kit bag and Whistle. Thank you also to Tracey and Adele at Wicked Stitching for printing the sponsor logos etc on the shirts even though they weren’t given much time. First class job girls!!We are still looking for further funding for things like trophies, first aid kit etc so if parents could ask bosses, friends in business, local businesses to sponsor the team it would be very much appreciated and all goes to helping your children.

Bob Thornton sent out a letter to generate support for the Catterick Village Sports Association. Unfortunately the AGM this year was poorly attended and there is now a real shortage of volunteers. This was the reason there was no Gala Day and this is now leading towards a funding deficit.  A special general meeting is being held on the 13th October 7.00pm to elect new members and to generate new interest so that we can continue the Catterick Village Sports Association for many years to come. If anyone is interested or knows anyone that may be interested then please come along and show your support at the meeting.

If anyone has any ideas or information they would like to put on the newsletter then please contact me.
