Club visit to Darlington vs Torquay - 6th March 2010

0 Comments - Add comment Written a day ago by sadams

We had a great turnout for

our club visit to the Darlington

match at the weekend

with players, coaches

and parents representing

all age-groups and squads.

The highlight for the players

was the stadium tour including

the dressing room and meeting

some of the players...

...and of course being the

guard of honour as the

teams ran out on to the pitch.

A collection of the photos I took from the day are on the website photos page. If you have some photos you would like to contribute please contact me (sadams@4email.net) but PLEASE DON'T EMAIL THEM TO ME!

Also - please let us have some comments on all aspects of the day to pass back to Darlington FC. Please feel free to provide positive and negative comments about the whole day (e.g. organisation, food/drink, facilities, value for money) - email Steve (sadams@4email.net) and/or Bob Thornton (thornton539@btinternet.com).

The BBC have a short highlight's clip including the teams running out and guard of honour (it was also shown on BBC1's The Football League Show on Saturday night) on their football web site.

Instructions for CVJFC visit to Darlington vs Torquay United Saturday 6th March

0 Comments - Add comment Written 6 days ago by sadams

This weekend we have our re-arranged visit to Darlington FC for the match vs Torquay United.

*NOTE:

  • If you were booked on the original match in January but can't make this match and want a refund you must let your squad's coach know ASAP
  • If you did not book for the January game but would like to come to this one please contact me (Steve Adams -  07901 917 113 -  sadams@4email.net) ASAP.

Arrival (12:00)

Those that are attending the hospitality should arrive at 12:00 and report to the Main Reception (South Stand) where you will be met and taken along to the Ron Greener Room.

Parking costs £5 per car.

Meal & Stadium Tour

The adults will eat first whilst the kids will be taken on a stadium tour - likely to be in 2 groups.

We will ensure CVJFC coaches accompany the kids during the tour.

The kids will eat at 1pm after the stadium tour.

We will be able to use the Ron Greener Room for the remainder of the pre-match period.

Guard of Honour

Darlington have asked for CVJFC to form the Guard of Honour as the teams run out of the tunnel before kick-off.

*Note: DFC assume the right to take and use photos from the event. If you do not wish to let your child be photographed please make this known to your coach and the DFC staff.

We need all the kids to be in CVJFC clothing - either CVJFC hoodies or a CVJFC kit/jersey (coaches will bring these).

Please can all the players come along in tracky-bottoms and trainers with their CVJFC hoody if they have one.

There is a dedicated changing area available if we need to get kids changed.

After the guard of honour the kids will change back into warm clothes to watch the match.

The Match

Kick Off is at 3pm and we will be seated in Block 7 (to the right of the tunnel) in the South Stand.

It will likely be VERY COLD sitting in the stand so wrap up warm - plenty of layers, hats, scarves and gloves!

Sad News on the passing of Karen Norrie.

0 Comments - Add comment Written on 02-Feb-2010 by sadams

It is with great sadness we have to report on the passing of Karen Norrie last week.

Karen was part of our U8s section, wife of our coach Sandy and the mother of Calum. She was also known to many of our community through her work at the village pre-school.

Karen lost a brave and courageous battle against cancer and will be missed by us all.

Our sympathies and thoughts are with Sandy, Calum and the rest of their family.

Karen's Funeral will be on Thursday 4th February at Darlington Crematorium at 1.15.

The family have requested no flowers and would prefer instead donations to St Teresa's Hospice (www.darlingtonhospice.org.uk).
